 Event Technics

Help create and direct the TEDx experience behind the scenes. Every event we organise has some technical side to it, whether it’s live-streaming another TED-event, videotaping speakers, editing or reviewing talks.

Your tasks:

• work on technical aspects on the event day itself (eg. build-up of the decor, projection, managing big screen presentations, camera’s,… )
• preferably work on the post-production (editing) of the TEDxGhent talks after our events.
• receive coaching where needed and if wanted – we are an extremely open organization and we aim to get the best out of everyone!

Your background and skills:

• some technical hands-on experience is necessary, mainly in setting up audio-visual installations (terms such as HDMI, keynote and powerpoint should be familiar)
• willingness to get your hands dirty for a non-profit organization, and to give the best of yourself

Plus points for your superpowers:

• video editing skills are considered a major plus
• graphic design skills are lovely to have for our event branding.
• knowledge of highly complex AV setups and directing of large scale events would also be considered jackpot!

Graphic designer

Help in creating powerful images for our social media channels and different campaigns. You’ll be part of our Communication Team.

Your tasks:

• developing eye-candy concepts, graphics and layouts for our event campaigns & promotion
• creating creative visuals both for our website & social media channels
• having casual & fun dinners (aka team meetings) with The Great Communication Team

Your background:

• degree in graphic design or similar field
• knack for IT, PhotoShop and InDesign are your beloved friends (we deeply appreciate “traditional” art as well!)
• great interest in graphic design trends (and pixels)

Plus points for your superpowers:

• web design experience, especially with WordPress
• marketing knowledge is a nice extra
• portfolio on various design sites (Behance, dribbble, etc.)
