Today’s society is fast paced and technology enables us to connect with almost anyone, anywhere and anytime. Facebook, Skype, Twitter and Instagram are our tools to “update our status”, have “skype dates”, “share tweets”, and “<3” other people’s pictures. Too occupied by communicating online, we often forget how rewarding a good face-to-face conversation can be and how important human connection is for our own well-being.    

During this TEDxGhent Salon you will learn how you can skip awkward small talk, understand why being vulnerable can be a good thing and be surprised how a magician can make a blind man “see”. The videos we selected will be presented to you in the cozy atmosphere of the Backstay Bar in Ghent.   

TEDxGhent Salon is a free, informal event where everyone is welcome. We watch, listen, talk and get to know other like-minded people. We frequently select a topic and gather in a cafe to watch the best TED(x) talks about it.

Please, note that there will be no live speakers, we are going to watch together the selected videos.
